Below are the steps on how to identify problems within your network.

Go download the 14 day free trial of PingPlotter. If you want, you can spend $20 for their sidekick version which will automatically analyze your network and provide troubleshooting tips.

Run the .exe file and install PingPlotter. The installation is straight forward, just leave the defaults and go through the prompts.

PingPlotter will launch after installing. (If you want to run PingPlotter at a later date, you can find it under your Windows start menu.)

With PingPlotter open, you will want to start a trace to Google’s DNS serverr. In the Target Bar type 8.8.8.8 and press the play button.

You will now see each hop it takes to get to 8.8.8.8, latency, and jitter. To start analyzing the data you are collecting continue here.
